Great advice, Heather! Everything was a science experiment when my girls were growing up. I actually would should “SCIENCE!” if I found something like a cicada shell, lizard, cool rock, etc.
I’d add to this advice: place a couple of bird houses in the yard, not too close together as most birds appreciate distance between themselves and neighbors. Also, a bat box can attract the mosquito-devouring critters. Both also add to the enjoyment of nature!
Reading this reminded me of so many nice memories and filled me with warm feeling of appreciation for the way you very successfully built a foundation of curiosity (and love of actual nature 😂) in me. Thanks Mommy 💞💞💞
